Who Is Wellness For? by Fariha Roisin

Fariha Roisin's new book 'Who is Wellness For? : An Examination of Wellness Culture and Who It Leaves Behind' brings an important discussion to light. Is wellness culture all that it's cut out to be? Or has it been co-opting the knowledge of Black, brown and indigenous customs of yore for profit, without crediting those who started it all and leaving them behind?

Fariha, writer and multi-disciplinary artist, talks about all this and more in her first work of non-fiction and what she calls her most significant work to date. The book looks critically at the wellness industry through her lens of being South Asian, giving it a truly unique perspective.

She is also known for other works like How To Cure a Ghost and Like A Bird, all stemming from her identity of being a queer Bangladeshi Muslim woman and speaking of her personal journey and battles with trauma.
